Privacy Policy

At Tip the Teacher, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all of our online visitors. This Privacy Policy applies only to our online practices.

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter or fill out a form. When ordering or registering on our site, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address or mailing address. You may simply visit our site anonymously as a guest.

1. WHAT DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION FOR?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  1. To personalise your experience. Your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs;
  2. To improve our website. We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you;
  3. To improve customer service. Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs;

  6. The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.

2. PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

We consider the following, among other things, to be personally identifiable information: first and last name, e-mail address, street address and phone number.

Information that we use internally to identify you as a user in our system, such as your selected User Name, is not considered personally identifiable information. We may collect online and use personally identifiable information from our online Visitors:

    1. to process and fulfil transactions;
    2. in connection with contests, sweepstakes, games, surveys, forums, subscription registrations, content submissions, classroom activities, message boards, blogs, our requests for suggestions and visitors'? requests for information;

We may even share such information between the buyers and sellers on our site in connection with transactions between such buyers and sellers. In addition, this personally identifiable information may be used to provide our visitors, via e-mail or other means, information about materials and activities that may be of interest to them, including products or services of third parties. Information You Provide

During the registration process, we collect your e-mail address, address and birth date. This information helps to ensure we can properly pay Members and ensures that the feedback loop is accurate.

During the Registration process, Members will also have the opportunity to provide a public Member Profile, which is like a biography about you and the Products that you wish to make available through Tip the Teacher. You can choose to provide as much or as little information about yourself in your Member Public Profile as you see fit. We may also have open message boards or blogs where you can provide any personal information that you choose.

The information you provide in the Member Public Profile, message boards or blogs is open to the public and available for any Member to access and see.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorised with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. Paypal is our checkout system and also has a high level of security.

Sellers are not permitted to use any information on the site from orders, outside the terms of use or user agreement. If you think this has occurred, please report to support@tiptheteacher.com.au with any evidence. We take this extremely seriously and Members could have their account terminated.

Access to your personal information

You can view any personally identifiable information we have collected from you in your Member Profile Page, where you can add, edit, or remove information as you see fit. You can always access your information via your Dashboard.

Children’s Privacy

At Tip the Teacher, we take children’s privacy very seriously. We provide a website directed to adults and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you should not use or attempt to use our Service or send any information about yourself to Tip the Teacher.

If we discover that we have collected information from a child under the age of 18, we will take the appropriate measures to promptly remove that information from our site.

Members may wish to use photos of their students to describe their Products or share their activities. Members must have the written consent of student’s parents before they can add photos of these students to the site.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that Tip the Teacher may have collected personal information from your child, please contact us at support@tiptheteacher.com.au to let us know. We’ll work with you to make sure that information is removed from our site.

3. NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION AND THE USE OF COOKIE TECHNOLOGY

We collect non-personally identifiable information through the use of a software technology called cookies and through our visitors' voluntary submissions to us or upon our request. By non-personally identifiable information, we are referring to information about our visitors' browsers (e.g., Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer), operating systems (e.g., Windows or Macintosh), Internet service providers (e.g., AOL or NET.COM) and other similar information which we track in aggregate form. The non-personally identifiable information that we track is anonymous and will never be identified with or lead us back to any of our visitors.

Cookie technology helps us to know how many people visit us and where visitors go on our site. Cookies are small bits of information we send to your computer. This means that no eyes but ours will see the information that our visitors send to us, unless we indicate otherwise, or it is in your Member Public Profile.

Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50 of unauthorized charges. If your bank does hold you liable for any of this $50, we will cover the entire liability for you, up to the full $50. Note that, in the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

6. USE OF IP ADDRESSES

We collect IP addresses to obtain aggregate information on the use of Tiptheteacher.com.au. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer by a Web server when you're on the Web. When you are on our site, we have a back-end server that logs your computer's IP address. We only use the information we find out from tracking IP addresses in the aggregate, such as how many users entered a specific area of our site, and not to track a specific IP address to identify an individual user. However, we may use such information to identify a user if we feel that there are or may be safety or security issues or to comply with legal requirements.

7. LINKS TO OTHER SITES

Visitors will find links from tiptheteacher.com.au to independently-owned, controlled or managed World Wide Web or Internet sites whose content we have found of possible interest to our visitors. In many cases, but not always, the links represent cooperative projects or mutual links established with the organizations connected with these sites. While we initially visit these sites to which we directly link, we do not monitor or control the content that appears on these sites and such content may be constantly changing. 8. POLICY EFFECTIVENESS
