  • Do I need to sell products to have a membership with Tip the Teacher?

    No. Opening a store to sell digital products on Tip the Teacher is optional. Members can use the site to follow other teachers and learn about teaching practices, inspirations, resources and experiences without creating a store or purchasing products.

  • Can I start an account for free?

    Yes, teachers can create a standard Tip the Teacher account and use all the features on it for free. If you choose to sell products online your commission rate will be 65% return on all products sold. If you would like to increase your commission rate to 85% you can purchase a Premium account for $50 for one year.

  • Can I sell tangible products using Tip the Teacher?

    You can’t sell tangible products using the Tip the Teacher’s checkout system however you can share information about the tangible products you sell using a third party platform (e.g. Etsy).
  • Can I share information about my business on Tip the Teacher?

    Tip the Teacher encourages educational businesses to create a profile on Tip the Teacher to keep teachers up to date with current teaching practices, professional development and services that are available. However, Tip the Teacher does not permit businesses to advertise memberships or digital products for sale that would be in direct competition with the products of its members. Any sharing of content or information that advertises memberships or businesses that sell digital products could result in a temporary or permanent ban.

  • How do I receive tips on Tip the Teacher?

    Followers choosing to send tips is voluntary. If you serve the teaching community with information and teaching inspiration, they will want to give back. Followers can choose the amount they would like to send ($2, $5, $10, $20 or $50) and all tips will be processed using PayPal.
  • How do I tip someone on Tip the Teacher?

    Followers choosing to send tips is voluntary. If you serve the teaching community with information and teaching inspiration, they will want to give back. Followers can choose the amount they would like to send ($2, $5, $10, $20 or $50) and all tips will be processed using the payment Gateway Stripe.

  • Can I share images of my students on Tip the Teacher?

    Tip the Teacher holds no responsibility for shared content, images and links by its members. If a registered member posts images of a student or child under the age of 18 years they must have signed consent from the child’s parents or guardians for the image or content to be shared.

    If you would like to request content or an image of a student be taken down please write your request to support@tiptheteacher.com.au including all information below:

    • a)Name of the teacher account that shared the image or content;
    • b)The title of the image or content shared including the time it was shared;
    • c)URL link to the image or content;
    • d)Your reason to why you would like this content removed.
    • e)Your relationship to the child in the image or content shared.
  • Who owns the intellectual property of the items being sold?

    The member owns all intellectual property of the products and posts shared online. Tip the Teacher does not own any rights to any product or post being sold or shared on the site.
